Challenge #03087-H179: The Natural Order

If you loved me you'd... Often demanded, often with consequences you'd rather not deal with. truth is that "If you loved me," cuts both ways. -- Nonny the Mouse [in memory of too many domestic violence victims]

It was only natural. Take one Tiefling who had rarely known a kind word and never known a kind touch. Add a young lady who showed him even the most elementary of kindness, and you have a recipe for instant trouble. For Kormwind, it was even more complicated than that.

Her name was Lali, and she was perfectly beguiling. Even a half-elf has charms that lesser mortals could fall for. All she had to do was bat her eyelashes and giggle... and Kormwind was a puppy on her leash. She was not rude enough to whistle for him, but a nod and a smile were far more than enough.

He was sixteen. So was she. If it weren't for his clear demonic nature, they might have made a cute couple. The fact that he had distant promises to keep and an oath to uphold could easily be forgotten, sometimes. What was here and now was easier to keep in mind. Nevertheless, when he remembered his oath to be "true to his troth", Lali had an ace up her sleeve. "I thought we were friends..."

Friday, Day 0, Unfuckening ho!

Plague news: Three new cases. Two local, one import. Forty-nine total cases, forty-four of those are in hospital.

I've fed the starters, fed the cats, and I shall soon be putting the bikkie on to cook. It was a quiet stream again, and that may change as soon as I have a schedule. People like having timetables.

Next week will be the big crunch. See if I can do it all and manage Miss Chaos' organisation towards school readiness. Fun.

After that

Challenge #03086-H178: What a Deal

If. The codicil to a lot of Life's bargains, often toxic, usually starting in learning years, where you often learn more than what's on the syllabus. -- Nonny the Mouse

Sadi hadn't known what they were getting into when they got into it. What they were used to getting into was Miss Tiven's Crap List. This time, Sadi had accidentally wandered into the Feywilds. It wasn't really Sadi's fault, they were just following instructions as best they could remember... so they thought.

Thursday, Day 0, Sleepless

Plague news: One new case, local transmission. Forty-nine total cases and forty-one are in hospital.

I've been awake since one-a-firkin-em this morning. I decided to use that time for a cooking experiment involving keto-friendly cheesecake. The cheesecake may be all fail, but it's the base I'm concerned about.

Basically, the base is runny nut butter thickened up with philly until it's mouldable like play-dough. If that works, then I can resume making cheesecake like normal.

What I failed at in the cheesecake

Challenge #03085-H177: Relative Luxury

The young deregger expatriate, somewhat reluctantly, but at Gorx's gentle insistence, schedules a few days off since Gorx is very safely at home for a few days to relax. He takes his mom out, she is also trying to wrap her head around this concept, and they truly enjoy their first taste of what people would call, "a vacation from work with pay."

Humans Jef and Bea were learning to adapt. Transiteer Gorx would

Wednesday, Day 0, Wordpress and teeth

Plague news: six new cases, one local. Five imports. Forty-nine total, with forty in hospital.

There's a fresh new story coming out soon. And sometime after that, I will be going on Wordpress for that weekly nonsense.

Later this morning, I'm getting some teeth drilled and filled. I will not be a happy camper until the swelling goes down.

But for now, the news:

  • Delta strain sails by extant vaccines
  • Some idiot punched a cart horse
  • Schools to stay closed in NSW

Challenge #03084-H176: Hello Again, Little Friend

They had crashed on a planet where the atmosphere was toxic. The pods were safe and able to be moved together to create a larger shelter, and with only four of them, the shelter was big enough for at least a month, though rescue stated they'd be there in about two weeks given the distance and lack of short cuts in that area. Their patient's infection showed by day two. The human frowned, seeing it, then began to cut apart citrus peels

Tuesday, Day 0, Patreon

Plague news: seven new cases, four local, three imports. Forty-seven active cases, thirty-eight in hospital. So a bunch of people are recovered? Maybe? I can hope.

My personal schedule is now adjusted. So now I bumbletumble about my morning nonsense, stream, and then write this thing. Streaming at 6AM is do-able, but only when I get up at 5.

I'll pay for it today, and get used to it tomorrow.

I have written some Tiefling tales and already done the Foundry tale.

Challenge #03083-H175: Anything is Ammo

A: "What's that?"

H: "What's what?"

A: "That odd thing you're working on." Indicating the odd contraption attached to the human's suit that the human was carefully adding conditioning agent to the strong, stretching, straps

H: "Oh, this? That's just my wrist rocket"

A: "Wrist Rocket?"

H: "My slingshot"

A: ........................................... -- DaniAndShali

"Aw, don't look at me in that tone of voice," said Human Ess, still tinkering with the simple device. It was nothing more than a forked frame, some stretchy straps,

Monday, Day 0, Getting Organised

Plague news: two new cases, one of each. Forty-seven total, all in hospital.

I got the Death Coughs this morning because Sneezin' and Wheezin' Season has started early. Yaaaayyy...

Which makes seeking out The Jab an even bigger can of arseholes than it needs to be. Ugh. They might not even give it to me whilst I have the Death Cough. Blargh.

In the news:

  • Aged care facilities continue to be hotspots
  • Canada's on fire
  • Muppet makes a dangerous admission in public,

Challenge #03082-H174: A Random Act of Kindness

He sought out, not Waithvine, but the kobold he traveled with. The young man, finding them along the trail, carried with him a basket of fresh fruit, fresh breads, dried meat, and sweet-filled pastries. Once he saw her, looking to the three travelers, the bugbear, the kobold, and the elf, the youth held out the basket to her, bowed and said softly, "Thank you." For he never forgot how she undid his bindings, and stopped him from ending his own life that

Sunday, Day 0, Whoops

Plague news: eight new cases. Five imports, three local. Two more according to our PM, and one of each. Forty-six or forty-seven total cases. All presumed to be in hospital.

I have enjoyed Toasty's stream [and I swear I wrote a blog for today back then. Derp :( ], watched Tale Foundry's stream, did my stream, and learned how to raid other streamers. Yay.

Not looking at the news. This is late enough as it is.

On the other hand, I have the rest

Challenge #03081-H173: Assisted Retirement

She was middle aged, approaching her 50's, her lower back hurt so bad she could barely move. Working in those damn factories for so long, ever since she was orphaned when the last big fire that swept through the city killed hers and so many others' families, had broken her. Then they came. It was late in the night, she'd gathered a huge amount of old, scrap, cloth stolen out of dumpsters and did her best to make it comfortable for her

Saturday, Day 0, Fun Feast?

Plague news: Five new cases, three local and two imports.

Masks are mandatory, so when I emerge from my rock to gain ice cream, I shall have my purple polkadot ppe on. Delta strain may have been spread in Queensland and this is now yikes territory.

I forgot to feed my Starters yesterday, but I got onto it this morning, so they should be fine.

In the news:

  • One country is facing a huge Delta outbreak
  • Statue of Lady Di continues to

Challenge #03080-H172: Defeating Monsters

There was a sign on the door. It read "Warning! Deathworlder story time! Humans inside!" Faintly, through the budget soundproofing, a cogniscent with good hearing could make out the wailing cry of an alarmed human larva. One with even better hearing would be able to make out the voices of other young humans, saying "It's OK, it's OK, it's not real, it's just a story. Right, Miss? It's not real, right???" -- Anon Guest

Fairy tales do not exist to tell children
