Challenge #03124-H215: Essential Enforcement

It's from this, but more from the prompts.

The lords of the realm now must face the wrath of their people. But rather than being killed, their people turn on them and drag them before the king in chains demanding the king teach these errant lords a lesson about mistreating the people they are supposed to care for.

https://peakd.com/fiction/@internutter/challenge-03076-h168-freedom-by-the-press -- DaniAndShali

"Well, this is an interesting development," said the King. The people had revolted against their revolting lords, but had not gone so far as killing them. Lord Baisingr was in chains before the highest court in the realm. Not just judged by his peers, but also the people.

Lord Baisingr, stripped of most of his finery and locked in stocks, had to protest. "This isn't my fault! This isn't fair! These foolish bumpkins have no idea what's good for them!"

The King and his attending Knives sat silently for a time. The Knives exchanged looks between each other before Kris stepped forward. "You paid bards to spread lies about why people like me were dying of starvation and disease. Why there were no houses protected against the cold of winter, or why the price of firewood was so high. I would say it is your fault."

Sunday, Day 0, Door Day

Plague news: Seven new cases - six local, one import. One hundred and sixty-five total cases, forty-one in hospital and one in the ICU.

We have one door painted and ready for the rest of the nonsense. Which is waiting on my personal energies. Which is not a thing on Sundays -_-

Beloved has made the unwise decision to keep my hours with me. I may never know why they decided this, but it's their bad decision to make.

I am

Challenge #03123-H214: De-Escalation in Progress

On a planet where children just trying to survive are being mowed down, where soldiers were flown in to murder them, and their families lived hiding in tunnels to survive, those that knew of this could no longer sit idly by. Several large ships came, other humans, heavily armed. They were not going to try to take over the planet or overthrow the government, they were there to remove the bombs and rescue the kids, and the families, out in the wastes.

Friday, Day 0, Busy Day

Plague news: Eleven new cases. Ten local, one import. One hundred and Fifty-five total active cases, forty-six in hospital and one in the ICU.

I have already made some pretty-pretty crumpets from the combined starter harvests. I'm learning how to make better ones next time. Huzzah.

The PLN today includes the usual nonsense: house unfuckening, the daily tale. Disposal of my fail!waffles [om nom nom]. Maybe building more of a dungeon and definitely finishing off January 2015 as tagged for my

Challenge #03121-H212: Call For the Doctor

They sat with popcorn and their best friends from the station and began with the earliest seasons. They had done this for quite some time, twice a month, since they moved here. Twice a month, on a weekend, they made popcorn, and invited friends for a couple of hours of watching Dr. Who, discussing the episodes, and enjoying themselves. And, of course, enjoying being fans of the show. -- HelloImTheDoctor

Thursday, Day 0, Behind the Curtain

Plague news: Four new cases, all local. One hundred and fifty-six total active cases, fifty nine are in hospital and one's in the ICU.

I'm feeling better about the world today and so is Beloved. The new normal's going to be fun to find for the both of us.

And this weekend? We're fixing the damn doors! Huzzah! At last! Reliable doors that the felines can't bust open. And shiny glittering doorknobs because I'm a human jackdaw.

Tomorrow... I make crumpets from

Alert!

Warning!

"...HELP!"

People come running as that word bellows down the corridor. A pirate, one of the stragglers that hadn't been able to flee as fast as the others did when they learned the prowess of the humans guarding the ship, was stuck. Young Pib had gotten molasses all over the wall, almost finger-painting with it, and now the pirate's feathers were heavily stuck like a fly to flypaper. -- Anon Guest

It looked like a humorous cartoon come to life.

Wednesday, Day 0, Wordpress and Mountains

Plague news: Three new cases, all local. One hundred and Fifty-five total active cases, Sixty-three in hospital and one's in the ICU.

Beloved conquered a mountain this morning. Not the physical kind, the mental and emotional variety. My love and support has mattered the most and there was an emotional blowout. Love and support is one hell of a drug.

It's their thing to share with the world at their own speed.

Mountains are hell. Most of the metaphorical mountains are stress.

Challenge #03119-H210: Turn Beast

The world was a level 1 Deathworld, to humans, it was damn near a haven world. The storms that DID blow up were no where near the level that Earth could throw at them, and the few predators, although somewhat dangerous, were terrified of the smell of smoke, and therefore were kept well away.

The Humans chatted cheerfully as they set up the tents in two sets of circles. The larger tents for the adult Humans on the outside, smaller tents for

Tuesday, Day 0, Patreon and Waffles

Plague news: Five new cases - four local, one import. One hundred and fifty-three total active cases, sixty-three are in hospital, and one of those is in the ICU.

I attempted to make waffles out of Beloved's Fail-Levann and the result was.... eatable... I guess. Better with tastier accessories IMHO. The waffles turned out floppy and the pancakes were a load of crepe. Ah well.

I might actually acquire some buttermilk and try the real recipe with my starter harvest this weekend.

Challenge #03118-H209: A Mirror Crack'd

A human has an archive of old horror science fiction movies from Earth spanning the 1990's to the first twenty years of the 2000's. Among these are movies like Alien, Predator, Europa, and so forth. Many of the movies portrayed aliens as monsters and horrifically powerful predators hunting humans as prey. But there was a reason for this. They also had movies like Close Encounter of the Third Kind, E.T. and more benevolent movies as well. They wished to teach a

Monday, Day 0, Sideways!

Plague news: Nine new cases, all local. One hundred and forty-eight total active cases, sixty-five in hospital and one in the ICU. And yet... lockdown is over.

Miss Chaos is back to school and everyone's wearing masks until further notice. Well. Everyone except the Knomiras.

I hope to have my terror cough available if I meet one. I have yet to meet one. Best luck for them, I reckon.

Challenge #03117-H208: Incidental Damages

"Aw, c'mon! We're all human here, you can loose the livesuit."

"I have a potentially contagious skin condition. Sharing this? NOT caring."

"Oh. Uh. Oh."

"Yes, I've been to medical. Yes, it's being treated. And yes, the itching is slowly driving me insane." -- Escla

"Is it related to the livesuit or--" Roy trailed off. How to politely ask how someone caught something they couldn't help was not in the Social Ed classes. He was at a loss, and circled his hand

Sunday, Day 0, Stream 'n' Sleep

Plague news: Thirteen new cases, all local transmission. One hundred and forty-four total cases [that's a gross for the numerically uninitiated], seventy are in hospital and one's in the ICU.

Plague brain's got me taking writing lightly and that's okay. Most of my energy is going towards worrying about the firkin deadly disease going around everywhere and WHY are people STILL being dickheads about firkin basic safety precautions?

Sigh.

If Covid was a firkin serial killer you can bet everyone would be
