Realm of the InterNutter

Thoughts, stories and ideas.

Saturday, BREAD!

It's a feast day, and I'm already into the stroopwafels. I have bread planned for today and keeping my hair dye off of my hands is a S-T-R-U-G-G-L-E.

Fortunately, I have a back scratcher that is taking care of all the head-related itchies.

And whilst my bread-in-progress is proofing and rising and being Bothered... I shall be sharing The Legend of Vox Machina with my Beloved.

MUA-HAHAHAHAA...

...and attempting to eat my own weight in sugar...

So have a story. I had "fun" avoiding my own sad attempt at a Latine accent, lest I be accidentally racist. If shenanigans work out the way I want, there shall be bread by bedtime.

Challenge #03337-I049: Branching Out

Vesa Solonen is a 40-year-old career criminal. He is usually silent and doesn't talk too much, except in a very intense situation. As his last name suggests, he is still unmarried and keeps solo. -- Anon Guest

They call me Solonen because I work alone. It's not what you call a 'real' surname, but it is one that is all mine. The name on the official paperwork is Vesa Meikäläinen. What you Americans might think of as Vesa Doe. It is a

Friday, Organisations

So my news feed this morning has an Anti-Vaxxer trying to open a PLANE DOOR in the middle of a firkin flight. Apparently this numpty wanted people to record him going off about vaccine mandates.

What.

The.

Flying.

SHIT!

The good news is that airline has banned him for life and he may yet end up on a no-fly list. Sucks to be him I guess.

My PLNs today include the usuals, and may or may not get completed.

  • OPEP sessions

Challenge #03336-I048: You've Been Mothered

More of Kevin's Mum and company, please. -- Anon Guest

Many Tieflings name themselves for what they want out of the world. As a starving child, he had named himself Abundance. It was what he valued most, and attained least. It was the change he wanted to write onto the world, and why he went following after a Druid to learn their ways. A little mistletoe can work wonders, perhaps miracles.

Abundance wanted that miracle now, subtly and not-so-subtly healing his leg

Thursday, In the Wars

Those of you who follow this blog regularly know that I gave myself a papercut in my sleep. Without any paper present. Yesterday afternoon, I hurt myself more than a little extra.

In the act of getting the mail, I stood on a pile of cut grass that had gone rotten. Said grass slid out from underneath me. I went down like a sack of spuds and landed hand first on a concrete stair riser immediately behind me.

Firkin OW.

I tried

Challenge #03335-I047: Accepting the Price

Sneaking this in even though you said you wanted to get down to 50 prompts before opening it back up again.

It's from this story btw. https://peakd.com/fiction/@internutter/challenge-03240-h331-not-as-expected#@internutter/re-bkf-r3v5fl

As Wraithvine sat without even batting an eye to let the older woman cut the hair, the woman rather surprised to say the least that they'd just sit and allow it, another comes into the home. This being looked almost exactly like the immortal elf. Wore clothing similar,

Challenge #03334-I046: Satan's Cobblestone

A human kid sneaks into unlocked Havenworlder quarters and leaves little hand-made gifts behind, carefully folded pieces of origami neatly secured to the tops of colorful bookmarks. -- Anon Guest

[AN: This is dangerous for an assortment of reasons and I will be going into a lot of them here]

A serial invader had finally been caught in Passthrough Station. The shocking part was that they were aged seven. Therefore, the first thing out of Security's mouth was, "You're old enough to

Tuesday, Patreon, and a Problem

It's Patreon Tuesday, so I have a bunch of stuff to post. I don't have anything for Tale Foundry - YET. Thinking about this is one of my tasks today.

I aim to get a month's worth of fictions tagged because I keep forgetting to do a week a day. Bleh.

So much to do. So little organisation. On my gottado's today:

  • All the self cares
  • Patreon posts
  • Tale Foundry story
  • Dungeon building
  • World building
  • Fic tagging for the app

If I

Challenge #03333-I045: Artistic Appreciation

Mr. Sunshine is sitting on leave at a fairly crowded, and quite pleasant, space station in the park painting a portrait of a pair of young kittens that were rolling around playing in the grass under the watch of the nearby mama cat. Behind him, there's a light clearing of the throat, and a young Havenworlder comes up to him and asks, politely, if he could teach them how to paint portraits, too. -- Lessons

Sunshine had to look twice. "You did

Long Monday, Disorganised today...

Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are apparently running the world. Ugh. I'm just waiting for it to bite some bums to be honest. I just hope they're not my bum.

I just played four hours of D&D that included familiaris interruptus [aka when the fam interrupts gameplay] and virus interruptus [aka: coughs and sneezies interrupting everything]. Fun stuff. Typical for an in-the-flesh game, too.

I'm going to do my story and attempt to stay awake until

Challenge #03332-I044: Don't Try That at Home

A young Havenworlder was in the infirmary having their wing carefully bandaged, the bone broken. Fortunately, they'd been strong enough to not go into shock from the injury. What had happened? They had decided to try some of the self-defense moves they'd seen humans do in a movie and ended up having a bad fall. The parents had been in the process of signing them up for beginner lessons and now would have to wait until they healed. -- Anon Guest

Sunday and Shenanigans

Tale Foundry is doing its stream as I type. I spent most of my morning alternately watching Toasty doing amazing things with lines and blobs, and writing even more Koshdelia for funzies.

Descents into madness are delicious.

I have watched three more episodes of Legend of Vox Machina but I haven't spotted where they hid Matt Mercer this time. I shall have to find him. That little task will help me maintain consciousness until 4PM, when I must sleep before D&

Challenge #03331-I043: Overhead Lesson

Several families get together and the infants are happily playing. One Knomira sees several children waving their hands at each other, all of them are pre-verbal and only speaking "scribble", but it's like the parents know exactly what the kids want, and sign back as well as say aloud what the kids want and answering them. The Knomira, of course, throws a massive temper tantrum because these parents taught their pre-verbal children how to sign for basic needs instead of being "normal

Saturday, Day 0, Surrender?

The government is not making people check in any more. They don't use the app, they don't use the app data, and so many people just sail on by without checking in, it's criminal.

I keep feeling like everyone in charge is just sticking their heads in the sand about this damn plague and hoping it goes away. Nevermind the thousands who die of it. Nevermind the thousands who are incapacitated by it. As long as the money flows, all is well.

Challenge #03330-I042: Fun Times With a Friendly Monster

It's been many, many, years since the Pax Humanis agents attacked the pirate ship and freed the children. Some of the children, with permission of parentals and guardians, kept in touch with the agents who became friends with them. Sometimes even being allowed to visit in person, carefully of course.
