Thursday, Chambering and Shenanigans

Having company whilst building chambers in TaleSpire is way more productive for the building of said chambers. It's easier to do things with company.

This set of chambers is going to be waterlogged and I need to check and see if the Kobold will drown when the water is where the book says it will be.

It's my universe. I decide who drowns.

Ahem.

Yesterday, my love and I tried to reach a Fish and Chippery called Yabby Road. Alas, it was shut. So we went to the next-nearest place that had deep fried mars bars.

It was feast day. Don't look at me in that tone of voice.

I also interested Beloved in everyone's favourite Gay Pirate Show, Our Flag Means Death. Two episodes so far and she seems to be enjoying it. Excellent. I shall have someone to rant with. Mua haha.

The rains have started in again. I anticipate more early home hours for Miss Chaos. Assuming school doesn't cancel outright.

AND it's Sneezin' and Wheezin' Season, so there may be lung trouble on top. Huzzah.

BUT I also have a story for you so you win.

Challenge #03419-I131: Passed With Flying Colours

"Don't bother the gods and they won't bother with you." She said. However, in back memory is one lost to both time and other things, is a time when she did see the inside of an old, run-down, temple as a little girl. She rescued what she thought was just an old person stuck in the rubble. They were deeply grateful for her kindness.

Wednesday, Wordpress and Date Night

We're having the second once-in-20-year rain event THIS YEAR and I'm having flashbacks to 2012 when we were having once-a-century rain events every other week.

MeMum's "looking forward" to a reflooding, but fingers crossed the measures she has in place now actually work to keep the water out of her house.

The rain may interfere with Date Night, which has previously involved visiting a fish and chippery called -get this- Yabbie Road.

If they don't have yabbies on their menu, I shall

Challenge #03418-I130: Look After Yourself

Ma scolds Wraithvine for making a very rare, for them, dangerous mistake. Fatigue can get to anyone. -- Lessons

It had been a long, long day of chaotic encounters in a Wild Magic Zone. Wraithvine, suitably frazzled and tired, had 'only' wanted to light hir pipe and smoke a little dandelion to calm hir nerves. Of such little things, big mistakes are made.

When ze came out of being an iron statue for a quarter of an hour, ze was face to

Tuesday, Patreon and Postage

My meds have gone ackers in the post, and AusPost wants me to wait for next week before I can report it missing. Yay.

I did get on to iHerb about the fuckup, so there's hope that something can be sorted about all this. The big problem is that mailing forms have ONE entry to put the street address in and you can't put the whole thing in the forms.

AND AusPost keeps changing their mind about the important bit -_-

Challenge #03415-I127: Convergent Evolution

The humans call us "foxes", close enough for them, since they have trouble pronouncing our proper name at the moment. We met these small, squishy, beings when we answered a distress call. Given our thick fur, our planet's pretty cold, and the pictures they showed us of their earth creature called the grey fox, we suppose, in their eyes, we do somewhat look like that. Still, at least these strangers are friendly. -- Anon Guest

Humans are great at misnomers. Just look

Challenge #03417-I129: Making it Look Easy

I love my job, I mean I REALLY love my job! I get up every day excited to go to work! What do I do? I run a multi-species salon and spa aboard a space station. Did I mention I really, REALLY, love my job? -- A New Guy

Livesuits don't tell the entire story, did you know that? Most species evolve in single gravity[1] environments and that means a mostly anthropoid body form. Some of them turn up in rented

Long Monday, Sleeplessness

We did have a fun day out, if a very long one. This long Monday is made even longer by not having enough of a rest. So my PLNs involve (1) Publishing my tale, and, (2) getting some firkin SLEEP.

D&D was manic. In no particular order, my players: Got drunk, took drugs, slept together, and birthed a Treeant. Check the VODs on my Twitch stream. It's wild.

By this afternoon, we should all be able to enjoy and partake

Challenge #03416-I128: Walking Carpets

A human who hires out as a protector has two large, beautiful, Newfoundland dogs. They gets some very interesting looks both on ships and on stations. -- Fighting Fit

The Human entered the ship with two bears. Not teddy bears, actual ursine life forms. The fact that they were padding amenably at Human Hip's heels did nothing to reassure the crew of the Indigo Shamrock. Companion Ty almost scurried onto a high shelf from the terror.

"How is having Ursid pet?" she

Sunday, Mother's Day

Today is the last Mother's Day I celebrate for myself. Rennie's Day, as I have just discovered, is the third Sunday of April. Could have been informed sooner, but... meh.

Beloved is taking over the accepting of Coffee Cups, gimcrack jewelry, and macaroni arts with beaming smile and that weird soft feeling one gets when the smols make a thing just for her.

Motherhood is many things, and one of those things is wearing a macaroni necklace like it's diamonds and feeling

Saturday, Sleep Shenanigans

I have a D&D game tonight, and Mother's Day Shenanigans tomorrow. So I'm pulling dumb sleep tricks. Including deliberately missing the streams I normally tune in for because Meatspace Social Stuff.

Tomorrow's stream is happening at 5AM and I will be missing Tale Foundry's fic readings. Which is generally where I get the prompt reveal. When I don't cheat and check the vote in advance.

Except that the vote hasn't happened yet.

I'm nervous now.

BUT I also have starters

Challenge #03414-I126: The Escape Clause

An old spirit, hearing the two conversing, steps forward to give a hint of the bell. What was the hint? "They who become too tied to their power, become tied by the power. They who learn to work with hands, not magic, soon learn they hear no bells."

Thursday, The Blargles

For the second day in a row, I was up late last night. The only difference betwixt last night and the night before was that I was up late having way too much fun. I am very tired today and something I ingested is disagreeing with me.

Hence, blargles.

Argh blargh I want to curl up and blob, today.

Nevertheless, I should at least try to stay conscious for the day so my sleep isn't messed up for tomorrow.

I may be
