Challenge #03287-BONUS013: Material Affection

He made the blankets to show how deeply he cared for the crew he served with. They got together to think of a way to show how they felt about him, things he may enjoy, that made him happy. They'd gotten to know him well over the years. But they didn't want to buy him something. Like his gifts to them, they wanted to make him a gift from their hearts.

"We got you something," said Companion Dyosh. There was a cluster of Havenworlders holding a suspiciously large and festive container. All of them were also very suspiciously pleased with themselves.

"What are you little skinks[1] up to?" Juude couldn't help but smile.

"For many thanks out of staying with us," said Captain Friss. Their grasp on GalStand was not as strong as it could have been. "We making this for you."

Challenge #03286-BONUS012: You Have Two Choices

They were talented enough to officially be viewed as one of the best technomages in the galaxy and then some, yet, they were only 15 years old. All they had to do was barely touch a computer, and it was like the thing was absolutely brand new and functioning in as near as absolute perfection as existence could become. Around AI's, they immediately were at 100% health, no matter how broken down they were, and even the most rusted out garbage of

It's been ten years since they've had even a single violent episode. An individual at a station got in their face, pushed them, became belligerent and violent themselves, and instead of killing the person, they merely grabbed

Challenge #03283-BONUS009: Breaking it Down

"I was there, in the midst of the firefight, that damn song on full-blast but it kept me pissed, hate that song now. Most of my closest friends are dead. My lover... they're gone, too. Yeah, I could've gotten an arm that looks real, skin that looks real, and not look like a patchwork doll, but I didn't want it. I can't... I don't want to forget that war, brief as it was. Even if their screams call out every night. I

A man from Pax Humanis was on leave after a very long, very bloody, mission. On a station grabbing a drink, they meet a young Havenworlder who has a serious self-esteem issue. They're heard stating over and over that they cannot do things simply because they are a Havenworlder and, as such, they are weak. Frowning and wanting to do terrible things to whomever put such thoughts into a kid's head, they push back that instinct and go to the young Havenworlder

Challenge #03280-BONUS006: I Can See Your Homeworld From Here

A Human had far more time than they could count, they found a planet rich with resources that was a Havenworld and yet, it was completely uninhabited, no cogniscent life anywhere. A planet which they quickly had placed under their name. Colonists from Deregulations moved in, one would think this would end up a Deregulation world, the CEO's from the local ones certainly TRIED to get them to become a part of it, but this human, after sitting and listening to the

I feel increasingly like my government has abandoned me and every other ordinary citizen in favour of keeping the cash flow up. Damnit.

Challenge #03279-BONUS005: A Hard Lesson

The CRC allows the citizenry or a former Deregger colony to decide the fate of the CEO that had ruled over them with an iron fist. What punishment does he get? HE gets to be the one to shovel manure from the barns, haul it, and spread it on the fields all day. Though, at least, HE gets to get regular breaks, fresh water, and time to eat, and his quarters were softer than what he used to let them have. --

I personally hate what's going on with the government information sites. It's less accessible and that's likely so that nobody looks close enough to see how bad we're failing at controlling the damn disease.

We're not "living with the virus", we're letting it take over.

Today, I am
