Besides, that was three months ago. The band of misfits, no two the same species, saw the potential and had been doing what they could to fix it up.

Half of their work had been in regrowing the damage, the other half was in building essential workshops.

Which was how Wraithvine found them, trying to assist too many people who had been fleeing the catastrophe. There was simply not enough. Not enough helpers, not enough supplies, not enough shelter, though they certainly tried.
