Monday, Backup Reads, Fetch Quest, and Compromise

I have to wear clothes, go place, and do thing today. Because there's mail I need to get from the post office. BLARGH.

Going place and doing thing on a Monday is not my favourite idea. But Tuesday is too late to do it.

Bothery.

I have a vague idea for a future schedule for my story reads. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday seems like a reasonable spacing to keep both PeerTube and TubeTube satisfied.

It's going to be "fun" keeping that schedule, but I can certainly try.

Story, and other stuff and nonsense, shall be happening after I return from place and thing.

Challenge #04529-L145: Flaws Flayed Bare

Yes, I am a killer. Don't worry, none of those I kill ever suffer. Your death will be completely painless, unlike what you did to YOUR victims. The warnings to others like you come later. You are, after all, going to be quite a lovely statue when I'm done. Your muscles out for the world to see.

Sunday, Taking it Easy

I am sticking to the bare minimum offerings and only thinking about doing anything else. I've been told I might overwhelm my audience if I post story videos every day.

I might slow down when I get close to the stories I've written this year. There are a LOT of stories to read. And a lot more past entries to the Writer's Group that I could stitch into one reading sesh.

Not that I have an audience yet. It's early days on

Challenge #04528-L144: Eye of the Needle

Seeing the pain in their eyes, the tailor promised this.

"I will love this child as my own blood, care for them to the best of my ability, and ensure they have a good life. But, they will know, you are also their parents. Even away, you will be in the heart."

Saturday, Parkrun and Hairdo Stuff

I got my roots recoloured, and the whole QPP got their hair extravagandized. Miss Chaos just decided on a trim rather than more purple.

In parkrun news, I've managed another 5K without needing my cane. The physio is really effective.

I managed to finish a chapter whilst waiting for my colour process to finish, so there's another win.

I've decided to use PeerTube as backup for my VTTRPG VODs, and I can only hope that it works because those files are firkin

Challenge #04527-L143: Prodigal Return Protocol

The universe loves unexpected plot twists. The human is still alive, just barely, suffering oxygen deprivation. A cranky old space-trucker manages to haul them into the otherwise empty cargo hold, turn the air on, and help.

The odds of being picked up by a passing vehicle when close to death in a Livesuit are millions, possibly billions to one. Fortunately for Human Zain, million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten[

Friday, Proceeding Apace

Working out the routine for the storytime videos, I think I have a rhythm now.

  1. Record story
  2. Send to Adorable
  3. Receive Subbie file
  4. Edit the final nonsense

Huzzah.

This time, I'm going to try making my preferred subbie format before I get going on the video project. Maybe I can get the format to stay this time around. Nevertheless, I have NOTES so I can replicate them at will.

By hook or by crook, I will get this WORKING.

I can do

Challenge #04526-L142: The Power Within

They were from a place that mistreated them for their weight and was upset. Twii, and a kind therapist who realized that the main problem was a genetic disorder, helped them realize that their life was worth keeping. That hope was not just an obscure word in the dictionary. -- Anon Guest

Therapist Kremp said he needed a confidence boost. Peej was almost entirely certain that she was going to set up some easy test to pass or some false scenario in

Challenge #04525-L141: Treacherous Terrain

You're never too old to learn. And despite their ages, even ancient legends make mistakes. These two get quite the tongue lashing about watching where they're going as, in a moment of distraction, they nearly walk into an area where rock slides are being deliberately triggered to stabilize the hillside. They almost got buried. -- Lessons

Wednesday, Rant Due and Cyclone Headaches

The good news is, I don't have a bubbling blind spot this morning. The bad news is that my painkillers are taking their sweet damn time to kick into gear.

I just flicked Clockwork Souls off to PS Literary, and B'Nar is in the reserve pile. The agent I was looking at is taking a sabattical. I have to look up someone else to take Adapting and Beauties.

Finding a third set of potential representatives is my task of the week, now

Challenge #04524-L140: Kharmic Realignment

You look so sad, why do you laugh?

"Because as much as they hurt me, they needed me far more than I needed them."

What happened?

"I walked away, and while I did not hurt them, exactly, I also refused to let them hurt me anymore."

And then?

"They hurt themselves instead. I do not laugh because I am happy of it. But rather, because I refuse to let them make me cry anymore." -- Anon Guest

Tuesday, Patreon and Shopping Expedition

I had PLNs to go shopping today. And then I noticed a blind spot creeping into my field of vision. Whoopsy doopsy, I have a stress headache creeping up on me, so I added some painkillers to my morning doses.

The good news is: the blind spot is easing away.

The bad news: I still have a cyclone migrane centred in my left eye socket.

So I'm working on my offerings until the painkillers finish driving my head owies away. Which I'm

Challenge #04523-L139: Works Like a Charm

They were selling tail hairs from unicorns and small pieces of horn. Small skeins of elf hair, and the shells of dragon eggs. Where did they get these? From bushes where hairs naturally were lost to shedding, places where pieces could be found where horns were scraped due to sharpening. From brushes after a being brushed their hair and threw the loose hairs from the brushes into leavings, and the shells were gathered, politely of course, by asking to clean the nest

Monday, Backup Reads and Minor Victories

I now have a new cord for my cane that should last a decent while. It will contain my folded cane, though it is a bit too loose. Something easily fixed by an improvised woggle bead.

[Shown here: A folded cane bound up with its own carry-cord, which is a two-tone braided cord with a large carabiner attached. There is a striped bulldog clip with its handles removed keeping the cord tight and the cane folded.]

Challenge #04522-L138: Confounded Language

Their language was so foreign, that even the basics were almost completely unintelligible. But the offers of aid and kindness, well that language is universal. -- Anon Guest

"Vada trues!" called the blurry figure lifting up debris. The light made Liis blink, but the words made him wonder if the live feed translator app was broken. Liis was too exhausted, too hurt, and too sick to try messing with his interface.

On the other hand, it might be a concussion. Liis decided
