Challenge #04477-L093: Instructions Unclear

Each human has their own fitness level. Don't judge all by the few you have met. And remember, everything in moderation, even getting into better shape. -- Anon Guest

Humans were supposed to be unstoppable. They were meant to be relentless. Witnessing one sitting and wheezing was alarming. The mobility aids were even more alarming. The exo-frame and the cane in combination made Kar initially believe this might be a low-grav Human adjusting to Standard Gravity. They were sitting on a bench and evidently in medical distress.

The frame only supported their legs and spine. Not their arms and head. The cough sounded like a large dog barking. It was the sickly sheen of their skin that gave Kar the final hint.

This was a Deregger expatriate.

Thursday, Finally at Rest

I don't have to go place and do thing, today.

Which means that I might have a chance to fool around with a thing. But it's more likely that I'll be spending some selfish time on entertainment.

Procrastination is my copilot.

And it really shouldn't be.

I should re-pitch Adapting and figure out what I'm doing next. By the time Adapting is ghosted by PS Literary, Clockwork Souls should be out of slush pile purgatory. I can flick Clockwork Souls at the

Challenge #04476-L092: Temporary Apprentice

A human teen has been following a hellkin around town for some time now.

"Why are you following me, human? I'm not doing anything wrong!"

Um...I...um .. sorry but..I...c...can... you t... teach me to d...do magic better? P.... please?

(Yes the stutter in the post is deliberate. Not everyone talks what most people call 'normal'. Just because we stutter does not mean we're stupid.) -- Anon Guest

Wednesday, Messed Up Morning

Here's my day so far:

1AM - Wake up despite my best efforts to remain asleep
2AM - text chat with Beloved as she was getting ready for bed
4-ish AM - return to slumber
6AM - panicked phone call from MeMum about the charging level in her laptop and how the power connection wasn't working. Immediate attempt to achieve cogniscence and preparation for hauling ass and solving said tech issue
7AM - Another urgent phone call from MeMum explaining that she'd

Challenge #04475-L091: Well Met Once More

Wraithvine was traveling and ended up in the village where ze had lost a magic contest that had been played for the fun of it. There ze found hir friend Oryn teaching students how basic, everyday, magic could be useful. For self care and self-defense, as well as around the home.

Time can make the world strange, as some of the wiser philosophers say. Wraithvine remembered this place, and like most places, it

Tuesday, Patreon Overdue, Shrink Day, and Shopping

I'm seeing my shrink in a couple of hours. I have stuff to post on Patreon and I need to take a couple of pictures for over there, too. And there's a supply run in the offing.

As well as the normal run of offerings unto the temple of notes.

Fun times ahead.

I can only launch after the Shrink Stuff(tm) but I can get a rattle on with my other contributions to the nonsense. And that's the PLN.

The good

Challenge #04474-L090: Save the Starfish

The entire group were coughing, obviously, seriously, ill. Jay and his mentor Sunshine knew they needed treatment quickly, or they would not make it. But they were also hesitating, conditioned to remain lest their former overlords find out. Fortunately, they knew how to intimidate an individual into doing what needed to be done. In this case, scare them to entering the transport so they could get medical care, and off this forsaken rock. -- Fighting Fit

Jay always thought they were merciless.

Monday, New Schedule For Game Night

To be more accurate, it's Game Morning... because the VTTRPG session goes through midnight.

Sunday evening, I get myself an early-early bedtime in the afternoon. All so I can catch enough Z's for the next bit. Which is waking up at 10 PM so I can get everything prepared for a session that stretches from 11PM Sunday to 3AM Monday.

I am understandably a bit of a wreck today.

Later on, after the backup readings, I shall call Mitre10 and ask

Challenge #04473-L089: Drama Balm

A wandering caravan has attracted a small friend that ensures that even the worst days still brings at least one smile. A small group of Cykets had decided to make their homes in the wagons and travel with the merchants.

Sunday, Schedule Change and Recovery

I have an early bedtime tonight. Because I'm waking up half an hour before midnight tonight so I can take some lunatics through a dungeon over the interwebs for four hours.

I will need a LOT of caffeine.

Might have to buy another slab of Monster if this keeps up. I already have PLNs to acquire meds, but they can wait until my consciousness is no longer part of the equation.

So until then, I make my minimum offerings until the wrist

Challenge #04472-L088: A Sign For Some

Friendly Local Paintball Game Garners Galactic Attention, blare the headlines! Warriors battle for supremacy! Human team is DEFEATED!

The day that shocked the whole of the Alliance, and caused entire worlds to break out in parties. To say that the humans had a Silly Season on Earth was the understatement of the century.

Saturday, No Parkrun, and Waiting For Spandek

I will bother Mitre 10 about the lack of Spandek sometime after the weekend. Parkrun is cancelled because flooding. We're still getting our hair did, all the same.

I forgot about that and washed my hair. Whoops. I will suffer the consequences with minimal complaint.

Offerings happening whenever. I'm trying to preserve my poor wrists, but it's not going well. I do have speech-to-text, but it's a minor pain in the butt.

Better a minor pain in the butt than a major

Challenge #04471-L087: Kindness Returned

They loved to sing. And would do so, gentle melodies, each time they went to harvest the hives. During that time, there always seemed to be other singers around them, the voices raised in gentle accompaniment. Even the bees seemed to calm during this. Once the honey was harvested, two small jars were left on the stoop, and the singer went to their home to process the rest. -- Anon Guest

Laurie sang to her bees. They were good company, and frequently

Friday, In the Wars

I have to take it easy. Both my wrists hate me, despite my stretchies. I still have nerve janglies in my right thumb, and my left got bitten by a pen when I put the lid on it.

To help with my offerings, I am installing some speech/text software.

That might help rest my wrists.

Or so I hope.

I also have a cyclone headache so that's promising fun. And tomorrow, I go do the First Timer's Briefing for parkrun. Wheeee.

Challenge #04470-L086: Magical Gifts

A child's birthday wish is to ride on a dragon, just a little ride, maybe?

Bribrid, the gnome that is actually a dragon in disguise, agrees. -- Anon Guest

It's not every day a person turns ten. It's even rarer to turn ten after undoing the plans of a great evil by accident. Wort hadn't meant to break the idol, but their bad foot had turned them off balance and the Master had told them to hurry or get another whipping.
