So let's recap my weekend:

  • Slept most of Saturday
  • Getting over gut greeblies
  • The best part of Sunday tweaking the timing in SESP
  • Rage and frustration at the above
  • Finally posting SESP so far

This now marks the SECOND time that I have kindly asked for permission to use the song in a thing. I'll send them an official email as well.

I'm not bothered because it was less than a minute of video and it's not nearly done yet. But I want the finished product to have synchronous sound when I share it. If I share it.

Like, I still want to finish this thing, even if it's just for me... but sharing with others is always my thing. It's going to be emotionally difficult if the band says 'no'. It's easy to hear 'no' from a person of esteem and go directly to "they hate me". I just have to respect that they have a brand to protect.

Today is going to be busy as hell, starting with another 4-hour unfucking session starting possibly as soon as I get home from the brat run. Maybe the nice cleaner person will let me have breakfast, but not much else. Expect todays' story to be L-A-T-E.

And I still have to set up a dinner. That's going to be fun. Because, guaranteed, I will be RAT FACED by the time I'm done with the house.

This has been a fun, fun day.

Whoopsy again

I didn't do a gosh-darn thing towards my goals, yesterday. I had an enormous nap after I finished my writing. And a bout of intestinal disaster or two.

The good news for me is that that noise seems to be coming to an end. The really good news is that I'm a mere 5 kilos away from my goal weight of 70 kilos.

Oof...

I did three and a half hours of cleaning, yesterday. The other half hour was spent fetching Mayhem from school. My back hurts, I'm tired (but can't sleep. Such fun) and the house looks amazing.

I also have a case of the gut bugs from somewhere. And I haven't done that much different from my regular routine. Which means either (a) mild food poisoning, or (b) I managed to pick up something from the local shops that I never wanted.

Huzzah!

I now have a legit copy of Adobe Animate CC. I'm using my Beloved's account, because why pay for things twice? Beloved has the thing, and has updated all the associated nonse. And I can animate with NO TIME LIMITS.

Which is just as well because it seems that I take about two weeks to draw a shot. Because OCD.

I just finished Shot #3, which was needlessly complicated for a very few seconds of time. But it is worth it. Beloved

Hectic PLNs

My car is due for a service, today. BUT, because of scheduling issues and Beloved's workload being THE MOST IMPORTANT THING... it gets convoluted.

Tropes That Annoy Me: Pervy Cam

It's in every romcom. It sometimes appears when the Action Gal cleans up for some undercover espionage at some high-ticket gala. It's definitely there when the lead female in any procedural drama has a flashy new outfit.

The camera pans from her shoes, lovingly framing her torso, and cuts away within a few seconds of seeing her expression so the viewers can see the extended look of awe/appreciation on the person viewing her1.

That's just one trick of Pervy Cam.

Tropes That Annoy Me: Incredible Age Gap

Of all the romance tropes that exist, it's the older-guy, twenty-something gal that's the most irritating, and it ties directly to this trope here. Men get old, women get replaced.

It's almost as if all women are worth is how good they look. This is evidenced in all the post-makeover shots where the camera lovingly pans up the beautified girl in question from the tips of her toes... but doesn't always make it all the way to her face.

Tropes That Annoy Me: Surprise Sex

We've all seen that movie. Action Guy and Action Gal or Damsel Gal do not get along for the entire firkin movie. Except near the third act when they kiss for no good reason and then suddenly have sex.

Sometimes, they don't even kiss. They just go at each other in a sudden and unexpected display of lust.

It's so far out of left field that it's circumnavigated the globe and come in from the right field.

Tropes That Annoy Me: Black Dude Dies First

For those who haven't realised the predominance of dead Tokens, read here first in which the token black guy [and sometimes black gal] gets a target drawn on them the instant the Big Bad is out to get the good guys.
