Apologies and PLNs

First up, I forgot to publish yesterday's free story teaser. Whoops. Y'all knew about it from Facebook, Tumblr, Medium, Twitter, and Pillowfort anyhow. Right?

I got a bad review for Comes Around. I missed the mark in big ways, according to them. Their opinion. And face it, what can you expect for a free story? They're not all winners.

I tried. This year, I failed. So what.

I started 'painting' the cover for Beauties and the Beastly. I should post another progress video, shouldn't I?

But today... I'm posting my Instant, and then I'm taking the family out for a feast day. All the carbs we can stand. Starting with a breakfast from Maccas and finishing with cake and spray cream and fizzy drinks.

I have planned this day for a year. I'm going to enjoy myself and screw the consequences.

Happy birthday to meee...

I'm now officially forty-five years young, dear readers. Today I have to deal with a dental appointment for Miss Chaos, and cleaning, because scheduling mess-ups yesterday. And the Instant, and the release of this year's All Hallow's Read story. And the regular stuff.

Master Mayhem has joined the musical 'band' I'm calling Ellipsis Addiction. We'll never tour, because it's just like... us having an argument over what sounds good. We'll keep going as long as it's fun, I guess.

Slowing down

It's Sunday, so my natural inclination to get moving and do anything is almost nil.

And I stayed up until nearly midnight listening to The Adventure Zone. Because I wanted to hear the end of it. Didn't get that far, because it was gone ten PM and there's no way that anyone can listen to 160 minutes of cool RP within two hours.

Hard slog

Poor Beloved is flagging. I can tell their personal batteries are running low because work/play imbalance and a lack of affectionate contact. All of this should be over by maybe Wednesday next week. The launch is this Wednesday, and the mad scramble to fix any gaps in the programming happen for a week after that.

After then, my love may finally have some time to spend in relaxation and family snuggles and just... recharging.

This is not the first time that I've had to scrape and scrimp to get things together. This is, however, the first time I've been trying to save for a new computer out of my own earnings and savings.

All together again

Miss Chaos returned home, last night, and to celebrate - we had fish and chips. Well. The little darlings had fish and chips. Beloved and I simply had grilled fish with a healthy dollop of Aoli.

Today, it's back to stew and whatever I can afford until such time as we get another influx of protein. And I have to rattle on up to the health shops to get some actual eggs.

Something there is that does not like me breathing, this week. At this stage in the game, I'm putting it down to Sneezin' and Wheezin' Season. And that's why I'm blogging with a breather mask on my face. Because Seratide and atrovent puffers aren't quite cutting it.
