Bread, bread, bread, bread....

Queensland has very sensibly closed its borders to New South Wales since NSW was silly enough to just announce "fuck it" and open its borders with Victoria again.

This news happening a mere 48 hours after several announcements where NSW and Victorian sporting teams are being sent north to Queensland. Possibly for health reasons.

I say this now:

FUCK. THAT. SHIT.

Don't do it. Do not let them into Queensland. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200, that won't even buy you a coffee order for five people these days. Jeesh.

TIL: Survivors of "mild" cases of Covid-19 are more likely to have LINGERING HEART DAMAGE. This plague is the gift that keeps on giving... terrifying comorbs and lingering after-effects that will hit all sufferers directly in the budget.

The US idiot in charge of education, Betsy-Wetsy DuVos, claims that >14K dead kids is "acceptable losses" when it comes to getting schools back to functioning status during the epoch of plague that has become this year.

In brighter news, the Muppet is apparently not allowed to Tweet any more. That may mean an increased number of plague-spreading rallies where he spouts bullshit to everyone. Or just using twitter via various surrogates.

I bet he's gone golfing again to take his mind off it.

I have Ingrid Starter bulking up to make bread today, and a whole lotta nonsense to plough through in the between times.

This is my rough agenda:

  • Blog & Instant
  • House unfuckening
  • Bread in progress
  • Acquire pool noodle (I'll explain later)
  • Inspect marketplace for replacement phone as mine is playing up
  • Retrieve main compy from repairs (that's what the pool noodle is for)
  • Acquire cream (I need it)
  • Acquire car battery (I was dumb, okay?)

As it turns out, Apple iMacs are (a) heavy and (b) sharp. The pool noodle will be cut to size so I can haul that MF from where the Apple Shop is to wherever I managed to find a park.

I may yet say "Fuckit" and use the valet.

I have attempted to enlist Mayhem's help, but if he falleth asleep, I may have to attempt enlisting Beloved.

Neither of whom have shown very much interest in making bread.

AUGH.

Why does everything around me have to go wrong?

Two Days!

Remember Tuesday's shenanigans that included an extended journey all around my neck of the woods? I've got the same shenanigans but no shopping trip.

I'm also re-logging into everything because I've switched from using Chrome to using Firefox. This in the hopes of taking some of the strain off of my poor dying compy.

A good nights' rest has helped my compy back on its feet for now. That's the good news. The bad news is that I still have to keep

Sigh.

So here's why my story was super late yesterday, told in the rough timetable of my day:

  • Awake, clothes, cats, waking Chaos
  • Blog entry
  • Bus O'clock
  • Attempt to write Instant #1
  • A wild Mayhem appears. He has a thing
  • Taxi Duty Part 1
  • Following dropoff, I go to Costco to get essential supplies
  • 8/10 employees were not wearing their masks properly
  • Two of which weren't in Costco so I had to go to Bunnings for one of them

Starting Again at One

One day of zero new cases in Queensland. I was honestly looking forward to a plague-free post-holiday peace, but no... we had to have people coming in from outside who were carriers.

So far, the permit system is working, but so far is "this weekend gone" so I'm waiting on tenterhooks.

I could not get to sleep if you paid me, last night, so today I am functioning on even less sleep than normal, huzzah.

Some Good News PLS?

My favourite band in the whole wide world fired two members for bad behaviour. I'll drop the phrase "sexual misconduct" and leave the entire issue there. Ironically, the former member most vilified for such is also the most apologetic. The other one continues with the denial.

Sigh.

The band will continue, hopefully with better people in charge of certain areas.

Ooof...

Queensland is opening its borders to people with permits and not to anyone from Victoria, and it's happening at a minute past noon today. Needless to say the permit site is crashing because everyone applying at once.

I think I'm going to stay away from a majority of the Plague News because its effect is debilitating on my psyche. On the other hand, I am getting loads of sleep. It's just not good sleep because depression naps are not refreshing.

Stream Morning Whee

Toastyglow is working some magic, and I am not able to focus on anything else. With luck, I shall be done with today's story before noon. I can hope.

It's been literal years since Mayhem got his Autism diagnosis [then known as Asperger's, which is now part of ASD yay] and I have since misplaced any paperwork I had regarding his diagnosis. Three guesses what he needs for the employment mob?
