Challenge #04249-K231: Never Work Alone

I once thought that time was of no concern to me. Distance yourself from others and stay focused on your work. A few years or a few hundred… it’s all the same. But after all this, I’ve realized the perhaps this way of thinking is fundamentally flawed. The passing of time have its own consequences. The answer that I’ve been searching for amongst all those lives…

Perhaps it’s life itself. -- Anon Guest

Time, wise philosophers say, can make the world strange. That sort of thing only really happens when you're not living in it. Immortals at work on perfecting one singular thing will turn around twice and find themselves in another reality. The strange soup of time turns things around, yet some things remain unchanging no matter how many centuries passed.

Neless had been working on the omni-cure so long that ze had lost track of which millennium it was, which war was raging, or even which polities were running the majority of the world.

Hir work on Panacea came to a halt from the lack of experimental ingredients, so now ze had to wander the world once more. Seeking that which worked, and that which ze hadn't tried yet. A general survey of known herbs, magic, and remedies was in order. So too was a distribution of hir discoveries. All to further the greater good.

Sunday, Footsore and Weary

I can not wait to get my foot seen to. No matter what I do, it hurts. I'm trying to maintain it and keep off it, but walking is becoming more than painful.

I might need to appeal for help from Beloved, but I'm trying to hold that off for as long as possible.

I can drive. I can sit and write. Walking around? I limp. I'm slow. It hurts. The maintenance routine doesn't do a lot to ease their symptoms.

Challenge #04248-K230: Good For What Ails You

An adult and an adopted child. The adult a hellkin, the child, half-giant. The child was sick, very much needing medicine they refused to take. Seeing Lilbit, they ask, politely, to pet the cat. And told only if they allow the adults to give them medicine, and rest a lot. -- Anon Guest

Family is whatever it takes to become one. Many frequently take foundlings into their fold. There's many an Adventurer who asks, "Is nobody going to adopt this urchin/orphan/

Saturday, Parkrun and Sleepless PLNs

My left foot hates me. My right knee decided to complain about its lot in life. I am having a series of bad air days. I am a very tired bean and most of my energy is going on breathing.

My focus is to get my offerings out there and then go catch some sleep.

With luck and fortune, I'll be able to run the game in the wee small tomorrow morning. I'll warn my players before I get going on the

Challenge #04247-K229: Gratitude

Letters, several of them, are sent to Jay. Who sits with Lillicoon reading them. From those he saved, without needing to raise a blade.

"I've got mail," said Jay, looking in confusion at their datareader. "Why would anyone send me mail?"

Lillicoon had to smirk. "You mean besides my own reasons?"

Jay fumbled and short-circuited for a solid minute before her gentle laughter gave him the clue that she was playing with him.

Friday, Appointments Made!

I finally tracked down all the doctors and have appointments to go place and do thing. Yay.

I'm going to get my heel seen to at about the same time that I'll be due to publish my All Hallow's Read story. Or at least commence on that nonsense.

I'm also seeing another medico about special meds at about the same time that I find out whether or not Agent #3 likes my nonsense. Synchronicity be weird around here.

I really need to

Challenge #04246-K228: Critical Perception Failure

They'd come to inspect the dragons forge. Everyone said the dragon was working there of their own will. Everyone said the main smiths were dragons. They didn't believe it. Even when the dragons showed them, they refused to believe it. Why else would they allow HUMANS to work here too? Or make things for others besides other dragons?

There's always ONE of those beings to show up from time to time. That needs a solid kick in the pants before they are

Thursday, Spinning Wheels

I have to track down quacks, and today's a good day for it. Fingers crossed I don't get lost in the shuffle this time.

I'll be doing that between videos I have in the background for attempted focus assistance.

I actually managed to draw Kosh in his sleepwear, and then accidentally posted it twice. First post spent five-ever uploading and I thought it was borked because I couldn't find it anywhere. So I posted it again and cancelled the first one. Or

Challenge #04245-K227: Long Time Learning

He was heavier, had more muscle, and was taller than all the other kids. Yet even the tiniest among them had knocked him flat. This went on for, he was unsure, until the King finally called a halt. Confined to a room with a bathroom "grounded", he was fed, given bed clothes, told to sleep. Next day, again.

Now an adult, he thought of those painful lessons. Grateful for it, It wasn't might, it was the heart, that made a person strong.

Wednesday, Writer's Rant and Shenanigans

Mayhem's entered negotiation to have two days off a week, in which to decompress, fill out his Learners, and otherwise have a life.

The sooner he's transportationally free, the better things will be.

For all of us. I'll have some freedom back, I'll have what passes for my social life back. I'll be able to run long-range errands again.

But that's a little bit away from now. Whatever days we get, I'll rearange my life accordingly. I'd like to have Tuesdays and

Challenge #04244-K226: Downtrodden Uplifted

It was a havenworld. The inhabitants? Almost all Uplifts, former slaves that had been freed, and their therapists helping them recover. The protectors? Three, 2 - person teams of Pax Humanis members that worked on 8 hour rotations. When dereggers come to try to "claim a prize"... they find that it's not the claws of an Uplift they must worry about, but far deadlier fangs. -- Anon Guest

Tuesday, Everything is Sideways

It's afternoon and I have barely started my nonsense for the day. Things that interrupted today's process are:

  1. A late night leading to a late start
  2. Driving Mayhem to work
  3. The cats
  4. Dinner creation

So now I'm doing what I can to get to completing my offerings before other stuff has to happen.

If I can focus long enough to do that.

Also, I may be getting a call from some maybe-scammers at some point. I need every luck I can get.

Challenge #04243-K225: Why? Why Not!

The cloak they wear is made of carefully tanned thick buffalo hide. Upon it, overlapping, are dragon scales. Oddly enough, each scale has a name etched into it. They buy the scales from the dragons, and dragon kin, fairly, one scale per individual, have it signed using a special metal quill, and use these for the cloak.

Why? Because they love all dragons and dragon-kind. And their life's mission is to make a special shrine where the names of them may forever

Monday. No stream today because death cough

I'm not dying, I'm just doing a very good impersonation of the last act of Camille or Carmen Buranda. I'm currently taking a dose on Max and I need to go shopping because the cats need more food.

Fun times ahead.

I thought I had more cat food than I do, so it's an emergency run for assorted things. So there's a significant chance I won't be back before stream time. Which is why no stream today.

I may do stream tomorrow.

Challenge #04242-K224: Hero of Justice

A sheathed, dusty, blade that was hidden in a thief's lair is stolen by a young hellkin seeking a way to defend themselves.

The blade finds they are able to speak to their new wielder, and helps them learn how to be a true hero. Not a false one wrapped in gold, but a quiet one wrapped in hope.
