Challenge #02830-G273: One Last Angel

I’ve always knew that death would come. Don’t know where, don’t know when. Death always looms over everyone and I know my time has come. It’s fine, I lived a full life, I’m one of the few to meet their great great grandchildren. They knew I was gonna to pass so they stayed by my side. At the end that when I saw death.I could barely move, I could barely speak. Death reached into his cloak and pull out not his Scythe, but a pocket-watch. He presented it to me it was no different than any other watch I’ve seen, always moving. Death pressed the top of the watch, the hands stop moving and I stop feeling pain. He hold out his hand, I’m guessing that I have five minutes. -- Anon Guest

"What's going on, you calcerous bastard?" I fumed. "You could have come any time since I was locked in, but no-o-o-o... Do you have any idea how painful it is when the nurses decide to slack off on turning a body?"

"NOT REALLY," said Death. "THINK OF THIS AS A FORM OF APOLOGY."

"Sorry I'm late, have five minutes to unmuddle the mess your relatives made while you were incapacitated, sort of thing?"

"FOUR MINUTES," said Death. "BEST NOT TO WASTE ANY MORE TIME."

Challenge #02765-G208: The Double-Edged Blade

Justice may be blind, but she can smell fear!

~Me -- AmberFox

Power, they often think, is wearing a crown and giving the orders. They were wrong. Power is taking responsibility and knowing that one person made the rules that encapsulated all their welfare.

Numbers beyond the safe ability to count were favourable when it was money, but not so when it was people bearing pitchforks and torches. When the people prospered, those in power prospered. Alas, when the people were oppressed,

Challenge #02130-E301: Let the Punishment Fit

"You do realise that the more you complain, call me rude names, and try to bully me into backing down, the more I'm going to look at this and ticket you for the faults, right?"

"And? I can pay as many tickets as you like, and before you make it back to your office!" -- Anon Guest

Officer Pam stared at the young man in the driver's seat. He was rich, you could tell by the car alone, but he had decided

Challenge #01753-D292: Quest's End

"Are you okay?"

"I may be crying, but I can still kick your ass!" -- OohLookShiny

To be heroic, you don't have to be physically strong. It's an advantage to have that, but it is not necessary. To be heroic, all one needs to do is continue in your efforts to improve the world despite the torturous circumstances in your way. People even have a term for the sort who can deal a lot of damage, but also end up almost ruined

When

When we can look at another and not see their skin
Or their gender
Or their tattoos
Or their piercings
Or their hairstyle
Or their personal preferences
Or their politics
Or their social status

When we can talk to another and not argue
But accept
That everyone has a point of view

When we can see a task that needs to be done
And roll up our sleeves
And pitch in
Regardless of our own status
And get something done

When we
