Challenge #04742-L358: Gifted Family

The dragon was very sick, it knew, save for a miracle, it would not survive until its egg hatched. A human woman with an infant, kind, even if very poor. The egg gifted, a vision given, please take care of my child. The hatchling loved the human as if she had given birth to it. And loved its human sibling very much to. -- Anon Guest

Wednesday, Crimbo PLNs

The rain threatening tomorrow will happen after dark, according to the weather bureau. Hooray. Which also means the plans for the beach Crimbo are NOT cancelled at the last minute and I don't have to do a mad scramble to make the house ready for a cluster of guests at the last minute.

See if you can sense where an argument was happening about that, folks.

I'll be ready for it next year. I hope.

I have Mayhem doing bread and I

They are hunting their target on this stinking backwater of a rock, one whose actions caused many deaths on a world the CRC is only now able to start rehabilitating. Tuesday, Physio, Patreon, and HALP!

::Singing:: Everything's falling apart and life sucks! (jazz hands)

My phone battery is inflating. My laptop is misbehaving. There's a threat to our economic stability that may or may not happen and our dear government is planning to make life more complicated and expensive for MeMum.

Hooray.

The laptop drama really got going yesterday when I dragged it and the keyboard to make it go to some Experts in Brisbane to see about a blood issue [I'm fine, my dosages just needed

Challenge #04740-L356: Unusual Analysis Procedure

Story told from the Point of View of a Vampire whose boring night job is tasting blood at the blood lab analyzing blood to determine various chemical details, diseases, etc. -- Anon Guest

My name is Tae Devereaux I am a Hematological Dilettante.

To be frank, there's not a lot of jobs that would welcome a vampire. Like, disposal services for Kosher or Halal butchers. Or helping out the blood spatter folks at crime scenes. Sure, we're fast and accurate, but we

Monday, Backups and Appointments

I have one eye on my (decaying) phone so that I know when I should take off for the medicos in the middle of Brisbane. Tomorrow, I'm offski for a Physio appointment. At least it's not too far to wander for that.

BUT I also have to wander into the zombie hordes in order to acquire a small something-something for Beloved.

And I need petrol. Bleh.

'Tis the season to be expensive, alas.

We will survive this. It just feels like I

Sunday, Streams and Stuff

I shall be dividing up the spoils of the bikkie baking betwixt recipients, today. It's the last day I can do it.

There's also streams to attend and stories to write. Fun to be had with my assembled bits and bobs and making sure everyone gets a fair share of the spoils. With a few concessions regarding likes and dislikes.

Minimum of two of a specific type so the recipient can sample them and see WTF I was talking about.

I'll hide

Challenge #04737-L353: A Different Kind of Bull

A trio of elves are using their longevity to rig long-term investments in a rather prosperous region, pretending to be a family of knowledgeable businessmen by taking turns as son, father, and grandfather with magic guises. Needless to say, they have amassed a fortune immiserating the humans of these valleys for generations. Though if Wraithvine were to show up it seems unlikely that their scheme would go unnoticed. -- Deathshead419

It was the kind of thing only a long-lived being would notice.

Challenge #04736-L352: Not Another Faerie Tale

A chimneysweep out late at night sees the darndest thing: a carriage racing away from the palace as it turns into a pumpkin. Even stranger, a crystalline slipper falls from the fleeing vehicle, one that fits the chimneysweep perfectly. And then, word spreads through the city that the prince is looking for the lovely lady who wore a glass slipper to his ball. -- Deathshead419

Just like trusting government systems based on waterlogged women handing out swords, one should not chose eligible

Friday, UNFUCKING and other things.

The spare room needs a solid joosh. The house needs degarbaging and we missed rubbish day this week. So it's a derecycling.

And the day after tomorrow, I have to sally forth just to pick up kitty litter. Because Costco was out when I went to pick up other stuff and things.

Bleh.

I have put some laundry on, I have stripped the bed in the spare room and put some of that in the wash. At the expense of my sinuses.

Thursday, Shopping and Nonsense

We're running out of other stuff and I have to brave the pre-crimbo crowds just to get it.

...halp...

I have no idea how exhausted I'm going to be by the time I make it home, so if I am, the story for today will become part of tomorrow's twofer.

And on top of everything else... I need to make bread. Again. That will be starting tomorrow with the Grand Pre-Crimbo Unfuckening so MeMum can stay over for the big day.
