Sunday, Game Cancelled Because Feet

I did get the branches away from the fenceline. The downside of this is that I ruined my feet in the process. Following parkrun, I could not walk very far, very well. It hurt a LOT. So I had to cancel the international VTTRPG sesh so I could spend some extra hours off those feet in the hopes that rest would help a little.

I plan on using my foot-friendly sandshoes as slippers today, as well as doing everything I can to put myself back into a not ruined situation. Lots of paddling in the foot bath ahead for yours truly.

Which means that Miss Chaos gets her first bike mission - acquire some ice from the 7-11. I'm going to need a lot of it for my continuing nonsense.

I'll recruit Mayhem for my morning doses, as well as the feline feedings, and otherwise be very, very stationary. Unless doing stretchies.

I have found a step-by-step tutorial on dialogue boxes, which is what I need for Pseuducku. I shall have a (very) basic interactive experience soonish to now.

I have eight days to recover from this foot nonsense before MeMum needs me in the wilds of Logan for tech support and some heavy lifting. I can do this. I've done it before.

And I am officially back on the Keto wagon in an attempt to get a grip on the swelling that's been going on.

And now I rise from my bed and attempt to deal with the day.

Wish me luck.

Saturday, Parkrun and Publishing PLNs

I have everything together, I am going to make myself put out last year's anthology today. I have the technology.

I just need to remember everything I need.

I should be fine.

I have to soak my feet in cooled water because swelling issues and I also have to keep off my feet for as long as humanly possible until further notice.

Fun stuff.

Not so much time for handicrafty projects with power tools. OTOH more time for messing around with GameMaker.

Friday, Physio and PLNs

I need to get Sillicea pills so my knees won't get worse. I also have to see my Physio today. So that gives me a chance to go place and acquire thing all in one trip.

I couldn't find a tutorial on text boxes that I could understand, so I tried to improvise one and I'll be testing that and finding out what the hell I need to do to make it work properly.

I will therefore, eventually, understand text boxes and

Thursday, I Got This

I have CachyBrowser loaded up and ready for me to do the daily tale. I know where the tutorial is for GameMaker. I've done my foot stretchies and about to start my wrist stretchies.

I also have a cyclone headache and am waiting for the painkillers to kick in.

I've downloaded two fonts for the cover of the anthology, so the newest variant is going to look super cool. At least after I figure out how to add fonts to my system.

Wednesday, Unfucking Journey

I currently can't upload images from my compy without borking my entire internet connection, my browser, or my compy. Apparently, it's a Firefox bug or its add-ons.

In the meantime, I'll be working on my image posts on CachyBrowser.

I have quite a few appointments upcoming, this week, and PLNs to go shopping today and get some supplies. For which I need to consult the rest of the fam.

It's been a thorough TRIAL trying to unriddle my technical issues that have

Tuesday, Pitchathon and Patreon

There's an event on Bluesky called #2025Pit in which authors give their elevator pitch to the app in the hopes of picking up representation.

I pitched: Adapting, B'Nar, Clockwork Souls, Beauties and the Beastly, and ADT because why not?

I have found a video tutorial for pop-up text windows for GameMaker, and I will be using that for a default error message first.

Then putting that into each and every function call so that the WIP will not have any errors for

Monday, Public Holiday and Procrastination

There's only one thing standing in the way of me publishing last year's anthology - and that's getting Lunacy to open the old *.sketch files. Which no other app can open.

So far, I just have the spinny wheel of doom.

I will eventually figure out SOMETHING. Same with my efforts to get things to happen in GameMaker.

I am rapidly oscillating between, "I've got this," and "I am a clueless, talentless blob of glorp."

Today's a 'glorp' day but I'm going

Sunday, Game Night and Exhaustion Points

Lots of laughs in the game tonight. The adopted Goblin became a level one barbarian with some adjusted statistics because toddler Goblin. All toddlers are barbarians. Fight me.

Despite having a post-game nap, I'm still bloody tired, today. I'll see how I feel by 5PM, when the heat allegedly starts to wane from the day and we'll theoretically be able to do more strategic pruning.

I'm still studying how to make pop-up windows in GameMaker, and I might try a couple of

Saturday, No Parkrun and Mor Pruning

Since the Christmas chainsaw has the exact sound profile of a toy, we're relatively free to go out pruning at the crack of dawn as well as the afternoon.

We were doing quite well this morning, until the battery ran flat.

We will get more branches cut down this afternoon. I've signed up the spawn to help out and spell me on the pruning work. Theoretically, we can get the branches away from the fence a lot faster than if it was

Friday, Fun New 'Hobby'

I waited until the afternoon when it was allegedly cooler. That was when the neighbour emerged and asked me to prune all the trees away from the fence line. And I can do that because Christmas chainsaw.

Beloved gives me the best toys :D

But, because firkin heat wave, including some of the worst weather Australia has seen, I can only use it in the afternoon. When it cools off a bit.

I will be getting help from Mayhem because there's a

Thursday, Brave Enough to Pitch

I'm a day late in doing Weird Writer Wednesday, about to commence my other offerings, and I'm expecting periodic loss of power and cooling because I'm finally getting the AC fixed.

So I'll be doing what I can as fast as I can. Until things are done and payment is settled.

I am going to force myself to at least pitch Adapting to PS Literary while I get things ready to pitch my other novels to two more agencies.

I am going

Wednesday, Technical Difficulties and So On

The internet is fixed!

I have my first physio happening in an hour. In half an hour, I take off to meet that appointment.

I need to remember to ask about cooling my heel on the evening stretchies cycle. And show off my new knee brace.

Fingers crossed, I get to post today's story before I launch.

After I get back, I'll work on the rant for this week. I have some worries about the state of affairs on the interwebs.

Nyoom.

Tuesday, Shopping PLNs

We need a few things, but I need to go to different places to get them. So I'm due for a Leyland's Tour today.

As soon as all the shops are open, of course.

My attempt to get the printer working was an outright failure. Hashtag, I tried.

But I also got all the buttons done, so my GameMaker time will be in placing them on the boards, and then learning how to make each function do what I want it to

Monday, Backup Reads and Back to it

The writing group is about to convene on Discord and share our little tales with each other. And have a good old gasbag about nonsense and cannibalism.

We're writers. The topic just keeps coming up.

I will finish the buttons, today, and push myself to try one last trick to get the printer operational. I can at least get that done.

Tomorrow... I push myself to resume pitching. And go shopping after the pitches are sent.

Wish me luck.

Sunday, Game Night and Relaxation

There was a lot of fun with the international chaos crew this morning. And now that I've had a nap and my stretchies, I should get on with the offerings.

But after that?

I'm taking the rest of the day to slack off. No work on Pseuducku. That can happen tomorrow.

Because I will be done making buttons and the next step is working out the buttons' functions. Terrifying.

But I think I can do it.

I... hope... I can do it.
