Challenge #04645-L261: Tourist Take Warning

My fellow cognisants. There has been a great many interested in visiting that fearsome deathworld known as Earth, though more apt name for it is Terra, as in terrifying. Today, we will go through some of the weather phenomena found there, my own experience, and why it's absolutely essential to listen to your human guides when they tell you to get to shelter when it only looks like a few clouds are overhead.

You may be thinking of visiting Terra for purposes of epigenetic strengthening therapy. Always consult your physician and counsellors before undertaking such a journey, it is very important as epigenetics only works if you survive the trauma to pass on your genes. Fortunately, there is an industry surrounding the concept of welcoming visitors, which is relatively rare for Deathworlds.

This Tourism Industry is what has driven the existence of safe zones on the aptly named Terra.

Keep in mind, please, that these safe zones are so designated by Deathworlders familiar with the environments of their Deathworld. The Humans have interesting definitions of safe. To expand the definition of 'interesting', I must tell you that there are numerous occupations Humans deem safe, such as: feeding and petting wild animals, sheltering under cloth structures around an open fire, and immersing themselves in their large waters.

Challenge #04544-L160: Homicidal Weather Patterns

They were visiting Earth. The skies turned a strange greenish hue, the winds went quiet, even the insects went still. The human grabbed their friends and swiftly dragged them to a metal bunker with only two words. "Twister's coming!" -- Anon Guest

Visiting the aptly-named Terra is not recommended for level three Havenworlders and above. Those undergoing resilliance training must do so under strict supervision from an epigenetic advisor. Why?

Well. Even in the most civilised and tamed areas, there are unexpected

Challenge #04419-L035: Easy Mistakes to Make

They didn't listen, and now they were covered in red welts and bumps. The human warned them that there were few, even among humans, who didn't react when harvesting this plant. And now they itched all over. They called them cattails, but they didn't realize those edible things were also irritants!

((Note, cattail plants contain an irritant on that lovely pod of theirs. While highly edible, it's advised to wear gloves when harvesting them.)) -- Anon Guest

Challenge #04380-K362: Not a Nice Kitty

They think the creature is just another earth cat. They should have listened to the warnings about the black creatures with the white stripes down their backs. The invaders need a lot of care and decontamination! -- Anon Guest

"Uh, Byox? Don't pet that one!"

"It's a harmless cat. Look, it has it's tail up, and what a floof!"

"No don't--" too late. Human Dez winced in pure sympathy as Byox got the full treatment from a neighbourhood skunk. "Ooohhhh... Ouch."

Challenge #03043-H120: It's Pronounced Ee-Mew

A tour group of several havenworlders, other galactics, and a few deathworlders were visiting an Emu farm and getting to pet the birds which were quite happily pecking pellets from open hands, visiting the young chicks, and seeing the hatchery. Then the humans grin, as a galactic mentions how gentle these birds are, and the humans tell of the Emu War, where these birds actually defeated the humans who want to war with them.

Challenge #02843-G286: Storm Damage

The tour-group had gone to the plains of the region known as the United States and was at a museum that told of such things as the Great Depression, and how humans had caused such damage to their lands that this region even suffered a catastrophe known as the Dust Bowl, when a loud warning blared out. A particularly large tornado was on its way.

Fortunately, the place had shelters to survive even an F5 so no one was hurt, or killed,
