This fandom is awesome.
You Tumblr-folk, you Game of Thrones and ASOIAF fans, you are all amazing. All that eyeliner in the photo came running off right after because I was crying from how amazing this fandom is. I said I would donate another $100 and I did, but you did so much. You stepped up, you donated, you volunteered, and you helped real people who have been raped or sexually assaulted.
All the donations, all the messages you sent, all the reblogs of the original post, and you even got people to write about the Sansa Stark Project on Uproxx and entertainment.ie. And it’s all because this fandom is so freaking awesome.
Every 107 seconds, a real person is sexually assaulted just like the character Sansa Stark was. Their trauma doesn’t end when a TV show fades to black. And fandom just stepped up to help those real women.
Way more people joined me on this little crusade than I expected. Let’s keep it going! If you can do it, make a donation in your own name. Make it in Sansa Stark’s name. Or Jamie Fraser’s name. Or in the name of a real person like Emma Sulkowicz. If you don’t have the money please volunteer. Just a few minutes of your time can make a huge difference.
