Candy + Crafts = Awesome

When Japanese Twitter user Overtime Queen noticed the resemblance between Ultra-string Q gummy candy and yarn, she decided to postpone eating it and try knitting with it instead. Each piece of the citrus and soda flavored candy measures 126 cm (50 in) long, so she bought 15 packages - amassing roughly 18.9 meters (62 feet) of gummy candy and set to work knitting with a pair of chopsticks, using a standard stocking stitch (18 stitches across), resulting in a lovely scarf that’s 100% edible.

There’s no word on whether or not Overtime Queen ate her crafty confection, but she did resport that the process of knitting the gummy scarf made her hands smell delicious:

“My hands smell like citrus soda and cola! They smell so good!”

After working on it for three hours, the completed scarf measured 25 cm x 15 cm (9.8 in x 5.9 in), and weighed 450 grams (1 lb). It may not be a long scarf, but it’s still completely awesome. We’d like nothing better than the opportunity to take a big bite out of it.

So here’s what you can do:

  • Like/reblog/share this. Send me asks. Let me know there’s some interest because I’m ready to do this, but I need to know there’s support out there for the idea. I’m not trying to make an app for just one person.
  • Well, okay, so originally the idea was because I really want this app. But there have got to be other people like me out there.

Take my money.

Challenge #00774 - B043: The Careful Calculation

Person #1: Fear is easy. Fear is cheap. Instead of fear, we’re going to give the people hope.
Person #2: Fear vs. Hope. Hardly an even match.
Person #1: That’s because you think of hope as something light and fragile. My version of hope has calluses and dirt under the fingernails and isn’t past bringing brass knuckles to a fight.

The board meetings of Cinderella Dreams were interesting. Around the Boardroom walls, circling the ceiling, was the company motto:

Checklist for character development.

Created by myself, compiled from questions gleaned from several sources, and some of my own additions.

It should be noted, that not every character will check every one of these things off. It is not REQUIRED to have all this information, but this checklist is, rather, a guideline for helping you think of your character as an entire, three dimentional being with thoughts, feelings, possessions, contradictions and background.

A character is 20% revealed to the

Challenge #00773 - B042: It's Physics!

I think the only apt description for particle physics these days is ‘punch it until its maths come out.’

[AN: I always thought particle physics was throwing tiny bits of the universe at each other to see what fell out of the crash…]

It looked like a cross between sanskrit, greek and cuneiform. Because of the lines and brackets, Kylie guessed it was intense math. She boggled in amazement at her roommate, Katie, as she worked on the complicated sigils before

Hundreds of tombs defaced in French Jewish cemetery

eretzyisrael:

France’s interior minister said Sunday several hundred tombs have been defaced at a Jewish cemetery in east of the country, in what he called “a despicable act.”

“The country will not tolerate this new injury which goes against the values that all French people share,” said Bernard Cazeneuve without giving further details of the incident in the town of Sarre-Union.

“Every effort will be made to identify, question

Isn’t that interesting.

Tumblr emailed me to tell me they deleted my post calling out the dude who sent me a rape threat.

But hasn’t banned the dude who sent me a rape threat, even though I reported him.

I guess Tumblr just wants to make their site safer for people who send rape threats than those who receive them.

I guess it’s not considered harassment to send rape threats, but if you name the person
