Challenge #03641-I353: Communication Barrier

Translator units were never entirely reliable. It was why most of the Alliance relied upon JOATS, polyglots, and stunt linguists to assist in negotiations. Make no mistake, translator units do an excellent job of translating the words. However... idioms, slang, and cultural references often slip through the cracks.

Translation software is always updating in an attempt to keep the metaphorical finger on the pulse of ever-changing language.

And then there's the Rennijym. A species of Avian Havenworlder who communicate exclusively in clicks and whistles. Most species can at least imitate the sounds necessary to handle GalSimple, even with some difficulty, but the Rennijym are not made that way.

Monday, Unfuckening and Shopping PLNs

I... might... have obliterated my Magic Saver Card through human error[I reset the PIN in the wrong thing]. It's Schroedinger's borked.

I have no doubt that it will be sorted out soon enough. Meanwhile, I'll pipe what money I have towards Beloved and do the shopping with her.

We still need to get cream for the pav, drinkies, and maybe a few other bits and bobs. Some of which requires having the kiddos in the car at the same time.

It's very rude to shake an Elf out of their meditations. Most Elves find ways to retaliate that range from subtle and disturbing illusions to disfiguring or near-lethal touch attacks. Most people knew this.

Monday, Internet Fail

I had my internet connection bork out on me last night. Right in the middle of a stream. I gave up on reconnecting closer to the end of the game stream and went to bed.
