Challenge #04551-L167: Surprise, Surprise...

They kidnapped several youths, putting them in a cage over a spiked pit, all to force Wraithvine and Bibrid to come to their lair in an antimagic zone. They didn't realize, this duo knew how to work miracles even in regions where magic was not accessible. -- Anon Guest

They knew it was a trap. How could it not be? A distant fortress past a pile of traps, in an area known for its unreliable leyflow and terrible storms... it had 'trap' written all over it.

So they went prepared.

The key factor was a special crystal that Bibrid wore around his neck. It was made of solid, crystalised magic. It would not last long in the null-magic zone, but the point was for it to last long enough.

Monday, Writer's Group and Stuff

The writing contest has an extra week, so the group has gathered together to bullshit at each other for a while.

I have a story to read, a story to write, a video to edit, the memes and doodl to contribute to the temple of notes.

Now that I have a starting point to return to, I can hope that the puzzle part of Pseuducku becomes a thing today.

I might even be able to publish an alpha version that's nominally function

Challenge #04550-L166: Zen Yoga Lesson

Pissing off a human is bad enough. When you do that to a N'Ozzie? Well, they'll do more than just kick your tail. -- Anon Guest

Do not anger a Human, for you never know how they will seek vengeance - Galactic Alliance proverb.

N'Ozzies are generally laid back and easy-going. That's their reputation in the greater portions of the Galactic Alliance. They're masters of making do, dealing with surprising situations, and creative problem-solving. What few people learn is that they're slow

Challenge #04549-L165: Family of Trouble

The one who was once a foundling taken in and called Wraithvine and Bibird "Untys", and the four who were the good-children of the immortal pair, find each other. In the finding, a close-knit bond forms among them. An interesting future awaits the party known as Compassion's Lessons.

Challenge #04548-L164: Out of Sight...

The elderly who had none to care for them in this village were more than cast out. They were set at the edge of a village in a little hut that had naught but a couple thin, rough beds a couple flagons of water, stale bread, and little else. The Disappearing Hut, because the elderly always seemed to vanish from it.

Friday, Mor Bread and Education

I have taught Chaos how to shape a loaf. We'll be trying again in about five hours when it's time to shape the next one. I might have to puppet her hands since watch-and-learn didn't quite cut it.

Today, I'm making another video, and passing another one on to TubeTube. And doing all the usual nonsense. When I get around to arguing with Cursor, I'll be focussing on the rest of the interface.

And believe me, working on Cursor feels a lot

Challenge #04547-L163: You Got a Big Storm Coming

Never underestimate a human with a really twisted sense of humor, friends in serious danger, a box of jokes, and nothing left to lose. -- Anon Guest

Shouldn't have messed with me, you flakkers. And you really should not have messed with my ship and my crew. You thought you were stealing people, a ship, and all that it came with. You thought you didn't have to worry about a Ship's Human because I was doing EVA maintenance when you attacked.

Thursday, Bread Double Play and Stuff

I spent a lot of time debugging game layout in Cursor, yesterday. The plus side is that I have most of the layout organised. Today, amongst the many other things I have PLN'd, I am double-dosing the bread ritual. I have the starter incubating as the first loaf proofs.

I'm going to be juggling timers today. One for the oven, one for the dough. And tomorrow, I cook even more bread.

All so the kids and I have enough bread for our

Challenge #04546-L162: Adventure Begins

Wraithvine is asked to set up a small training dungeon to help teach young, inexperienced, adventuring parties who are just starting out. -- Anon Guest

Adventurers were a kind of plague of their own. They tended to barge in, wreak havoc, forget what they went there for, and steal anything that wasn't nailed down. Most of the time, they could be aimed at dangerous places, but closer to civilised spaces? People had to hire Adventurers to get the Adventurers out of their

Wednesday, Surprise Bread Deficit and Further PLNs

The good news is: the kids really enjoy my bread. The bad news is that I have to make WAY more of it to see me through the week.

So I'm preparing one batch of dough today, making another batch tomorrow while I'm baking the first tomorrow, and baking the second one the day after.

I'm also doing a story video, today.

And the usual nonsense that y'all will see on my various socials. I'll get it done, for sure. The system

Challenge #04545-L161: Prejudice's Shadow

They did not speak, childhood illness stole their voice. But the Harukh village didn't care. This human had always been kind to them, helping them when illnesses or injuries came their way. They also made it clear to so-called "heros", this human who could not speak was not going to be mistreated. The human, for their part, kept trying to make it clear, wordlessly, they didn't NEED "saving". -- Anon Guest

Tuesday, Catching Up and Roof Nonsense

There's a mob giving our roof an inspection for hail damage. It's free, but I can see the fishhook from a mile off. They're going to recommend a total roof overhaul with their special company, and find a way to get extra money beyond the $500 they promise to cover in addition to whatever the insurance is going to spring for.

I will ask for it all in writing and then forward that to Beloved for the yae or nae.

Today, my

Challenge #04544-L160: Homicidal Weather Patterns

They were visiting Earth. The skies turned a strange greenish hue, the winds went quiet, even the insects went still. The human grabbed their friends and swiftly dragged them to a metal bunker with only two words. "Twister's coming!" -- Anon Guest

Visiting the aptly-named Terra is not recommended for level three Havenworlders and above. Those undergoing resilliance training must do so under strict supervision from an epigenetic advisor. Why?

Well. Even in the most civilised and tamed areas, there are unexpected

Monday, Jabs, Shopping and EXTRA

I have people coming around to inspect the roof for hail damage (free) in half an hour. I have to chase Chaos to get ready for a public appearance so we can both get Flu and Rona jabs.

I might as well top up supplies while we're out, 'cause there's no telling how down we're going to be afterwards. Then I go home and work on my offerings, including manually reworking the subtitles for Friday's video because the alternative is subtitles that
