Pseuducku Progress Log: Enter Cursor

It's been a long time. Most of the behind-the-curtain stuff was me alternating between being brave enough to try something or swearing at the latest game maker for not acting how I thought it should.

The latest piece of software helping me make software is called Cursor and it's an AI machine to make programming slop. With sufficient frustrations along the way.

I've drawn my frustrations for my daily doodles once or twice. I may yet do more on that topic.

But behold! Actual layout with the power of programming!

It took me literal HOURS and two sessions to tell Cursor how to build this. Including the placement and behaviour of the buttons. Note how the un-usable buttons are darkened and greyed out.

Also note how this is a strictly local web app at the moment. It is clearly not ready to go live for beta testing.

Next embuggerance:

Telling the machine how many and where.

Where was a big issue.

But, I reached my final exhaustion point at getting the placement done right.

Shown here, the 4x4 grid with some ducks placed on the board. Displaying how some selection buttons are greyed out when no more ducks are available.

In both size puzzle grids. Though there were a few issues.
No Sudoku game should let you do this.

But I got it fixed in the end.

Next battle: Creating the puzzles and using the software-placed pieces.
