While ze could not stay due to promises and the heavy hand of Fate, sometimes Fate decided to give a kindness and let hir stay for a time to visit the young children. They were growing healthy, strong, and were as close and as protective of each other as any family could wish. They also were learning the lessons of kindness, and how to care for others as well.

Wraithvine had held the four of them in hir arms. Sang them to sleep. Helped them learn to walk. The Hellkin, the Halloblood, and the far more ordinary Human. Of the quadruplets, it was the little Human that had Wraithvine's wary attention. If anyone was going to be fate-touched, it would be the last one anyone else might suspect.
Thus, the wards ze left for little Daisy were both extreme and more solid than granite.
The next time ze visited, they were children eager to welcome their "Unty Waif". All smiles with missing teeth, scraped knees, and undying enthusiasm. Lib, the only one of the four with wings, lifted up her sister so she could join the joyous, squealing assault on Wraithvine's arms and senses.
