Authio Commentary

This strip marks the point where I got bored with the hallway.
Every time I get bored with the 'area' of XMEC, I add more environment.
As you can see, I was also bored enough to make some actual props and
scenery.
Shortly after I finished this strip, I decided to 'make' some sprite
food for Kurt to eat/hold in later strips.

And here's where I used them ^_^ This is the first strip where you can blatantly
tell that I habitually edit my strips at 200% magnification, since the cookies are
hardly visible unless they're pointed out.
And I used the joke about Kitty being a bad cook before anyone else did! Yay for me!

I love this one ^_^ Kurt strikes me as the type who *would* pretend to be dying
so he could get closer to the gal he adores. Of course, when he *reacts* to that
closeness, the whole plan goes pear-shaped in a hurry, Kitty realises she's been
duped, and Kurt has to run ^_^ Fast.
Scott's line is meant to imply that he does something like this every other week ;)

The joke is that, like those ancient _Pixie and Dixie_ cartoons, the background is
being continually recycled. Only this time, there's people watching these guys running
in circles whilst apparently running in one direction.
Circular world, remember?
Of course, Jean, being thicker than besser brick in this universe, doesn't understand; and
Scott, who has a thing for dumb redheads, wants to save her from a killer migrane ^_^
I *still* think that the funniest thing about this strip is Kurt saying 'hi' and 'bye' to
Jean and Scooter ^_^

Today, I showed off that I learned how to do overlapping speech bubbles. Whoopie ^_^
And yes, I did write actual dialogue that goes 'underneath' Kitty and Kurt's lines. In
essence, I'm too lazy to do very many backgrounds, so the world goes around and
around in circles.
Jean's punchline is a reference to the Australian bush legend of the road that turns on
itself. There's a road, according to murmurs, that goes forever; and if you happen to find
yourself on it and continue walking its path, you will eventually walk so long that you meet
yourself coming the other way.
...Oooooooooo...
Yes, that's what passes for spooky stories around here. Go fig.

In this strip, I'm pretending that the kitchen is off a perpetual hallway and we just
don't see the door. In reality, I hadn't drawn any doors as yet, and felt I could
get away without them for quite a while.
I just *love* Jean's reaction times ^_^

The funny part in this one is the sound effects. I've explained it before, but for
the record, 'kwah' is an exclamation you often find in Chop Sake movies. I should
have stuck a little exclamation mark on it but I forgot. Deal.
